The university life in HKU should never be bounded by the walls. Take a walk around the community near HKU and get to know more about the neighbourhood. This walking tour will guide you around Sai Ying Pun and Kennedy Town. Student Welfare|Mooncakes Coupon Group Buying Discount

As Mid-Autumn Festival is approaching, the Union is now providing group buying discount for mooncake vouchers. HKU students can now purchase mooncake vouchers of Imperial Patisserie, Häagen-Dazs, Taipan, Saint Honore and Wing Wah at discounted prices.
Students have to submit the application form together with full payment at Union Office on or before 6 September, 12:00 noon. Starting from 13 September, 12:00 noon onwards, mooncake vouchers will be available for collection at Union Office. There is no minimum amount of purchase required for this discount.

HKUSU Notebook Ownership Programme 2018

 

The Hong Kong University Students’ Union is organising the Notebook Ownership Programme 2018 for HKU students, staff, and alumni to purchase notebook computers at an education discount. This year, we are glad to have Lenovo, HP, Dell, and Apple as the suppliers of notebooks for the Programme. Online ordering will be available starting from 9 August 2018 (12:00 nn) at http://hkusu.org/notebook/. There will also be two rounds of roadshows during which you can place orders and have a hands-on experience with the notebook computers. Details of the roadshows are as follows:

Student Welfare|2018 World Cup Final Live Party

 

The long wait has ended, and World Cup is back! Round of 16 has just finished: France, Uruguay, Russia, Croatia, Brazil, Belgium, Sweden and England had proceeded to the quarter finals, while tournament favourites including Argentina, Portugual, Spain were eliminated from the stage. Unexpected match results make it a lot harder to predict who will triumph in this year’s World Cup. Being a football fan, you cannot just simply miss out this exciting tournament. Therefore, the Students’ Union will throw a World Cup Final Live Party on 15th July, 2018, when the long awaited World Cup Final will kick off! The Party will be held on 1/F of Union Building, opposite Union Office. Live streaming of the match along with snacks and drinks will be provided for free. Students only have to present their valid Student ID cards to enjoy two drinks and snacks. Drinks and snacks will be served on a first-come-first-served basis. Details of the function are as follows:

Visit to Local Brewery

 

There is perhaps nothing more relaxing than enjoying a cold brew in a hot summer. Generally, Hong Kong people consume beers that are produced in Europe, Japan or China. Actually, the locally-produced craft beers are also of high quality. To deepen students’ understanding of the local craft beers industry, The Hong Kong University Students’ Union will cooperate with “Lion Rock Brewery” to hold a visit to local brewery. Through the visit, participants can not only understand the process of brewing craft beers, but they can also taste five unique flavours of beers. The details are as follows:

The Hong Kong Beauty & Fitness Expo 2018 is going to be held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre from 8th to 10th June. Student Welfare|Chinese Soup Giveaway

The examination week is approaching, and students are busy revising. Therefore, the Students’ Union will give away hot soup this Friday outside Chi Wah Learning Commons for students to refresh and stay healthy while studying throughout days and nights. Each student will receive a cup of hot soup by showing their student card. Distribution of hot soups is on a first-come-first-served basis.
