When the general public still haven’t reached a consensus on the land supply consultation, Ms Carrie Lam, Chief Executive of Hong Kong Government, wildly introduced “Lantau Tomorrow Vision” — a reclamation proposal, in the Policy Address 2018. Such reclamation project may use up HK$1 trillion fiscal reserves. The project has stirred up immense controversy, as the government ignored opinions from citizens, procedural justice, ecological value, and fiscal condition. The Hong Kong University Students’ Union will join the protest organised by “Save Lantau Alliance”. We hope that students and citizens can attend the protest tomorrow, opposing the project who goes against citizens’ desire. The details are as follows:
Date: 14th October (Sunday)
Gathering point: East Point Road, Causeway Bay
Destination of the protest: Central Government Offices
Time of protest: 3:30 p.m.
