March Opposing the Amendments to Fugitive Offenders Ordinance

The Government gazetted the Fugitive Offenders and Mutual Legal Assistance in Criminal Matters Legislation (Amendment) Bill 2019. Should the Bill be adopted, will allow case-based surrender arrangements and transferring fugitive offenders to states where long-term surrender arrangement is not applicable, including China which refused to ratify the ICCPR. The bill does not only bias the business sector, but it also fails to ensure crime suspects procedural justice and fairness. It creates a greater loophole for China and the Hong Kong Government to criticise dissidents. Students’ unions of higher education institutions invite you to join the march, organised by the Civil Human Rights Front and LegCo members of the Pan-democrats, opposing the amendments and the bill. The details are as follow:

Date: 31th March 2019 (Sunday)
