New Year’s Day march 2019

Controversy about illegal structures of properties owned by Teresa Cheng Yeuk-wah, ban on Hong Kong National Party, denial of visa for Victor Mallet, the unconstitutional co-location arrangement, a series of unreasonable disqualifications, “East Lantau Metropolis”— a reclamation proposal in the Policy Address 2018 which may use up the fiscal reserves, tough sentences to participants in Mong Kok protest, scandal concerning construction works of Shatin to Central Link, Hong Kong prosecutors’ decision to drop investigation into Leung Chun-ying’s corruption incident… 2018 has been a year with absurdities and injustices. The values that we have been upholding for long – freedom, rights, democracy and rule of law are being devastated, while the sufferings of the underprivileged have yet to be alleviated. The Hong Kong University Students’ Union will join the January 1 rally organised by “Civil Human Rights Front”.
We hope that students and citizens can attend the rally, so as to show the government that Hong Kong people have never endured the government’s incompetence and misdeeds. Details of the rally are as follows:

Date: 1st January 2019

Gathering point: East Point Road
Route: From East Point Road to the Civic Square
